The Tale:

In ancient Egypt, a sleek and clever cat named Bastet, blessed by the goddess, lived by the Nile. When mice raided the village granary, threatening their food supply, Bastet sprang into action.

Slipping into the granary under the cover of night, her glowing green eyes spotted the culprits. But instead of pouncing, she struck a deal. "Stop stealing the grain," she told the mice, "and I’ll bring you food every night."
